The Crossovers We Can Look Forward To in 2021

by pps-DUEditor

Everyone wants a crossover today. They’re packed with features, nice to drive, comfortable, practical, and look like SUVs, while being cheaper and more economical. We’re listing what we think are the most interesting models regardless of the price range.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

This compact crossover slots in between the Trax and Equinox. Its platform and engines are from the Buick Encore GX. You’ll notice design cues from the Blazer, but the Trailblazer has a more boxy shape thanks to its frame. It’ll seat five in its spacious interior and allow you to drive them anywhere with its optional AWD. It’s available in multiple tech-loaded trims.

Alfa Romeo Castello

This is the flagship of the Alfa lineup here. It shares the same platform as the Stelvio and Guilia but will be tweaked to help it gain 8 inches on the Stelvio. The engines are likely to be shared with the Stelvio, which means the base option is a 276hp 2.0L turbo-four, while the most powerful one is the 503hp 2.9L twin-turbo V6. A hybrid option should arrive as well.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The biggest change for this SUV will be the Giorgio platform that it’ll share with Alfa Romeo. This change allows for more interior space and enhanced comfort. An independent rear suspension will also boost comfort and ride quality. The base engine is likely to be the Wrangler’s 270hp 2.0L turbo-four, while the 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque assist and the Hemi V8 will be available on higher trims.

Kia Sorento

Kia’s bestseller since 2015 will get a solid upgrade. It gets a bolder design with a more squared-off front end like the Telluride. It’ll also receive a plethora of safety and other tech features. The powertrain also gets an overhaul with the addition of hybrid options. The conventional engines get turbocharging in the interest of boosting power and efficiency. The prices are expected to remain the same.

Lamborghini Urus Performante

The fastest SUV in the world gets a new set of wheels, active aerodynamics, aggressive air intakes that will make it even more insane and push its power to 700hp. A lesser-powered hybrid with “only” 680hp is also expected.
